How to use Image Editor
- First, select an image or photo from your computer, Google Drive, or GMail attachment.
- The image file will be loaded and displayed
- From there, you can view the image and make and changes or edits such as cropping, resizing, or adding a filter.
- After edits are made, press the "Save to Drive" button to save the edited image back to Google Drive.
- You can also download a copy of the image to your computer or device using the "Download" button.
About Image Editor
- This app will open an image or photo of your choice, letting you make changes and save back them to Google Drive or your computer.
- Image Editor works with all file formats including JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, and HEIC.
- Standard image editor features are supported including crop, rotate, resize, conversion, and color filters.
How Image Editor Works
- Image Editor is a pure Javascript web app. All processing is done locally in your web browser and on your computer.
- Image Editor will work "offline" without an internet connection. You do not need to send data over the internet to use this app.
- You have the option to save the image to Google Drive. No data is sent to Google Drive without your permission.
- You can open and edit images directly on your computer without sending them to Google Drive or anywhere else.
- You do not need to authorize any special permissions in order to use this app.
If you do wish to open an image from Google Drive, you will be asked to authorize Image Editor for permission to access Google Drive.
Image Editor Toolbar
- Image Editor has a toolbar that allows you to configure the editor screen according to your preferences.
- The buttons on the toolbar are described below.
- Crop - Trims part of the image by adjusting its top, bottom, left, and right boundaries
- Filter - Stylizes the image with special filters and color effects
- Colors - Changes brightness, contrast, exposure, or saturation
- Markup - Allows annotation of the image with shapes, text, and free-hand drawing
- Resize - Resizes (scales) the image to be larger or smaller
